INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S CRICKET COUNCIL (IWCC)


SIXTH MEETING

SIXTH MEETING - held in London on 1st, 2nd August, 1973. India and Trinidad and Tobago attended. The membership of Barbados was approved. Due to the loss of the IWCC records in transit from New Zealand, no Secretary's Report nor Statement of Accounts were available.

The main purpose of the meeting was the revision and updating of the Constitution. Several drafts had been received and that submitted by Australia was taken as the base. After lengthy discussion, the revised Constitution and Bye-Laws were agreed and the Chairman of the meeting (Miss Whitehorn) was authorised to tidy up the wording, etc., where necessary.

Under the new Constitution, the three Officers would come from the same country. The following Officers from England were elected:

Hon. SecretaryMiss E. Irwin

Future provisional tours plans were agreed and the logistics problems linked with the World Cup were briefly discussed. The question of a Common Policy regarding National Qualification was raised and delegates stated their requirements . the consensus was a three years. residence would be suitable.

At the end of the meeting, details were given of the formation of the Caribbean Women's Cricket Federation in May 1973 - Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia and Grenada. The title West Indies would be used for Test matches. IWCC funds as at 30th September, 1973, were £80 (sterling).
